Murió Dozer, el segundo buey más grande del mundo; medía casi dos metros de altura

Dozer fue el segundo buey más grande del mundo, fue salvado de ir a un matadero. Su gran tamaño le provocó problemas de salud.

No cabe duda que existen animales que nos pueden sorprender por las divertidas acciones que hacen, mientras que otros por su impresionante físico, entre ellos se encontraba Dozer, un buey que fue considerado uno de los más grandes del mundo debido a su tamaño. Este animal vivió en un refugio en Steinbjach en Canadá.

En una publicación en redes sociales, el refugio Kismet Creek Farm informó que uno de sus inquilinos, el buey Dozer murió. Sin duda, este animalito era uno de los que más recibía visitas en el lugar, ya que llamaba la atención por su tamaño.

???? LARGER THAN LIFE ???? We first met Dozer in the Spring of 2018, after corresponding with his amazing Rescue Mom for almost eight months. She had been searching for a safe forever farm for her beloved bovine companion, who she'd saved from certain death many years before. Finding sanctuary for Dozey was challenging given his extraordinary size. Dozer was 6'5" and an estimated 1500kg! After modifications were made to our cattle shelter and fencing, Dozer moved in with us and spent two amazing years with our herd. He towered over them but was always incredibly gentle and loving. His massiveness and large horns were off-putting when visitors first saw him, but he quickly stole their hearts when they saw how friendly and charming he was. Rebecca's hope for Dozer, in addition to a long happy life, was that he might be able to be an ambassador for his species, educating others about the fate of male dairy calves, and inspiring more compassion and kindness for farmed animals. None of us could imagine just how well he would accomplish that goal, simply by being himself. Dozer's size garnered international media attention, and for thousands of people, he was the first 'cow' they'd ever seen up close, or touched. He adored attention and truly thrived here, but nothing made him happier than visits from his human mom Becca. Their bond was one of the deepest, most beautiful connections I've ever witnessed. They were family in every sense of the word. We tragically and unexpectedly lost Dozer on Tuesday. He was down on his side and unable to get back on his feet. This happens to cattle due to their immense body weight, and it quickly causes potentially fatal health complications like muscle damage and blood pooling. We used creativity and physics to gently move Dozer up onto his chest, and a veterinarian rushed to the scene and began treatments. They were just starting to work and Dozey was more alert, beginning to move, when suddenly his poor overworked heart just couldn't keep beating. He was gone in an instant, Rebecca and I on either side of him, holding his handsome head. We are all still reeling and trying to process. Thank you for all the love and condolences. ❤

En la publicación en donde se informó que Dozer murió, contaron la historia del buey más grande del mundo. El enorme animal llegó a Kismet Creek Farm en el 2018, cuando un granjero decidió salvarlo de ir al matadero por lo que fue adoptado por Rebecca, una mujer que lo conoció cuando era un bebé, sin embargo, la mujer no tenía el espacio suficiente para que Dozer viviera adecuadamente, por lo que lo llevó al refugio de animales.

Tras mudarse al refugio, Dozer comenzó a hacerse popular debido a su gran tamaño, de acuerdo con Kismet Creek Farm, el buey medía casi dos metros de altura, aunque su tamaño lograba imponer a cualquiera, en realidad era un animal muy tierno.

La publicación menciona que Dozer murió el pasado 18 de agosto después de permanecer acostado de lado mucho tiempo, algo que puede afectar a las vacas y bueyes de gran tamaño. 

Tras no volver a pararse, su sangre se acumuló en sus extremidades y sus músculos se rompieron y aunque un veterinario acudió a verlo, ya no fue posible hacer nada por el animalito.

Kismet Creek Farm compartió que Dozer es considerado, en realidad, el segundo buey más grande del mundo, el que ocupa el primer lugar se encuentra en Italia y mide cerca de 1.98 metros, mientras que Dozer medía 1.96 metros de altura.
