Tras ser nominada al Globo de Oro como Mejor Película de Comedia, además de su candidatura por parte del Sindicato de Productores de Estados Unidos, ahora Deadpool vuelve a dar la sorpresa al figurar como nominada en la categoría de Mejor Dirección en Ópera Prima, por parte del Sindicato de Directores de EU.
La nominación recae en Tim Miller, quien se enfrenta a Garth Davis, por Lion; Kelly Fremon Craig, por The Edge of Seventeen; Nate Parker, por The Birth of a Nation; y Dan Trachtenberg, por 10 Cloverfield Lane.
