Después del anuncio de que Johan Cruyff padece cáncer, el mundo del futbol se volcó con mensajes de apoyo al holandés desde sus cuentas de Twitter.
Los principales en hacer llegar sus mensajes fueron el capitán del conjunto del Barcelona, Andrés Iniesta y Eric Abidal, este último quien hace cuatro años le fue detectado un tumor en el hígado, mandaron todo su apoyo al ex jugador y su familia.
Hristo Stoichkov, quien llegó al Barcelona en la temporada 1990-1991, escribió a su maestro que "todo iba a salir bien".
También ex jugadores del Ajax como Ruud Gullit, donde militó 'El Falco' mostraron su solidaridad.
Instituciones como el PSV, Rayo Vallecano, FIFA y la Serie A se unieron a la campaña de "Fuerza Johan"; mientras que el Ajax confirmó la información por parte de la representante Carole Thale.
